I've ripped of Glenn and started a second blog, devoted to movies and to a lesser extent, TV. Since I'm pimping it, I'm required to tell you to go there.
So go there. |

LJ Interests meme results
- arrested development:
Best show EVAH!!!
Or maybe not, but... Best Current Comedy, almost definitely. Best Show Raped By Channel 7... it ties with Firefly, although that's not exactly current, so I guess AD wins by default. Anyone not watching this, feel fucking ashamed. - cancelled tv shows:
Because those are the best ones!
Well, Wonderfalls, Angel, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Futurama, Dead Like Me... all quite good. - dirty canadian half-breeds:
You know who you are. - fawlty towers:
Best seventies British sitcom EVAH! Without doubt. - hating george w. bush:
Fairly self explanitory. - led zeppelin:
Awesome band. Even if they do, occasionally, ramble, but they admit that. - powderfinger:
They were a good band! At one stage. - spaced:
This... doesn't go under cancelled because the fuckers just stopped making it. They better release some more movies soon, though. - the simpsons:
Even if it's pretty ordinary some days, everyone loves it. Except mum and Bridget, but they're just fucked up. - zombies:
Is there a better movie monster? There is not. All movies can be improved with zombies.

On Saturday, the 27th of August, I begin.
Shorty after Monday, the 7th of November, they mail me a cheque.
Assuming I don't die in the process, or whatever.
This probably delays my getting a new job. A new employer might frown upon the two weeks total completely off, and the twenty days of having to start after 2pm, due to the visits.
Whatever, though, it's tax free. |

[Jul. 25th, 2005|07:01 pm] |
I stand to make a few thousand dollars, which, just, sweet, but I have qualms.
Basically, my Sara' boyfriend Mitchell's brother Nathan did a drug trial a few months ago, and he's alerted me that there's another coming up, so I gave the folks a call today, and I fit the criteria, but...
Okay, here's how it goes. Say I go in on a Wednesday. Early morning, I go to this unit in the hospital which has cool stuff like a DVD player so I won't get lonesome. I think other than a walk once a day I'll be confined to the unit for three nights. This place is about ninety minutes away by public transport, by the way.
For the next ten days I return there every day just for an hour or so. Apparently that happens in the morning, but even if I get there at nine or something (meaning I leave home at seven thirty maybe) I won't be home until midday or so. Every day for ten days. That brings us to the Tuesday, almost two weeks after the trial started. I then stay at the unit for three more nights. That's seventeen days.
Two and a half weeks later, on a Wednesday again (if it started on a Wednesday) that entire process starts again, for seventeen more days. The two seventeen day periods, they're called sessions.
Then, two weeks after THAT finishes Wednesday again, I have two more nights at the hospital unit thing.
And then, moneymoneymoneymoneymoney.
Here's the thing, though, it's not all peaches and cream (not that I like peaches and cream). Here are the cons:
-There might not be work during each seventeen day period, just because of all the staying over there and the travelling. I might be able to make it in afternoons, maybe Thursday nights, but... who knows. The point is we don't get a cheque until after the final visit, so I'll have weeks where I just might not get any paycheque at all. But work sucks cock anyway so it'll be nice to escape... that's only a half-con. A mini-con.
-Needles!
-No alcohol during each session. Seventeen days without so much as a solitary beer. It'll be a pain if people are going for nights- and I'll miss out on fun during 21sts- out but I can survive this.
-This one really, really hurts. Caffiene. None of it. At all. For each session. Two periods of over two weeks without even a glass of coke, or Christ, a chocolate bar! This will be my undoing, because I survive on this stuff.
Decide for me.
In other news, mum got way drunk yesterday. There was a relo bash that work made me miss, but apparently all my aunts and uncles drunk like nothing else. This is not a standard practice. Mum, as it turns out, is a grumbly, forgetful drunk. Seriously, she turned into Leonard Shelby. She asked me to take the garbage out three times. She asked Bridget to bring her phone to her when it was sitting right next to her. Then she called in sick to work today, because she had a "sore back".
Crazy drunken mothers. |

...how awesome both Sam and Jen are, pretty much in equal measure. Truly two of the finest people I know.
Sam, can you please record House for me?
Jen, can you please record 24 for me? 24 is on Channel 7 from 8:30 until 10:30. Double episode.
Hot. Thx. |

Tax returns are a fucking pain in the arse, especially when you maybe sort of keep track of NONE of the important documentation accumulated over the past year or more.
In looking for a previous year's (any previous year's, apparently) notice of assessment, however, I did find the American Beauty score, a CD that was burnt for me and subsequently lost almost a year ago. That's hot.
Yesterday, in the mail, I got notice of Jury Duty! Some time between August this year and July next year I will likely be called to do my thing for society/justice/whatever. Apparently it pays $100 bucks a day. I hope I get a big long important case. |

It's the final day of my first year of LiveJournalisity. Hot.
Tropfest has just announced their item to include in all short films entered this year: bubble. I might actually do a movie this time.
I'd write more but I have Six Feet Under to watch with my stepsister. I will say this:
War of the Worlds r0x0r, totally 10/10.
Ciao! |

| | Belle and Sebastian- Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying | ] | Not that I was going to but I didn't win, so I don't get $10,000 and I can't buy myself an awesome computer editing system or the Vespa my sister just won. I want that scooter. And also an iPod. And none of that pussy Mini or Shuffle shit, I need the full size one.
Oh well, next time.
Some of them have pretty fucking awful titles. "There's Something About Kyanna". There's a fucking original one, how'd you come up with that, Peter Ivan? You genius you.
Two people won twice. They got two scripts in. Kelly Schilling has "Delivery Man" and "Grand Final". Those are some inspired titles right there. Congrats, Kells.
I'm going to start doing self harm if ANY of them have a fucking twist that involves any sort of multiple personality thing because that's so fucking overdone I want to scream.
(I have a right to be bitter)
I got kicked out of a bar on Friday night! Then an ambulance was called!
To be continued... |

In other news, still no mail, and I think I maybe sort of kind of a little tiny bit like Big Brother this year possibly. |
